Second time lucky: Wesser earns QLD
fullback role

Penrith fullback Rhys Wesser will make his long awaited representative debut next Wednesday night after being selected at fullback for the Queensland State of Origin side.

Tigers halfback Scott Prince has been given the Maroons? number seven jumper following his remarkable performance against Canberra yesterday afternoon.

For Wesser, it?s a dream come true after controversially missing out on the fullback position last year. He was the game?s best fullback in 2003 and finished as the NRL?s leading try scorer.

Justin Hodges has been forgiven for previous sins, earning a wing spot despite a disastrous performance in last year?s series.

The full team is: Rhys Wesser, Justin Hodges, Paul Bowman, Brent Tate, Billy Slater, Darren Lockyer, Scott Prince, Shane Webcke, Cameron Smith, Steve Price, Michael Crocker, Dane Carlaw, Tony Carroll. Interchange: Ben Ross, Petero Civoniceva, Travis Norton, Chris Flannery, Matt Bowen.
