Sharks sign new major sponsor

The Sharks have secured a new major corporate partner with LabourHealth, an Australia-wide on-site workforce safety management company the new front of jersey sponsor for the remainder of the 2014 season.

The LabourHealth logo will be featured on the front of the NRL playing strip at the Sharks next game against the Roosters tomorrow night, with their affiliate company Labourforce to appear on back of the jersey.

Over the coming weeks LabourHealth and the Sharks will also explore the possibility of extending the sponsorship arrangement into the 2015 season and beyond.

Company CEO Regan Brown was excited to be joining forces with the Sharks, confident the partnership will benefit both organisations.

"First and foremost it is an opportunity for us to increase brand awareness and to increase our presence in the marketplace," Brown said. "On top of that LabourHealth joining with the Sharks is a good news story coming on the end of what has been a difficult week for the club.

"What we do is go to companies to reduce their workplace risk, implement cultural improvement programs and I have no doubt we can both make this partnership work."

Similarly, Sharks CEO Steve Noyce was pleased to be able to announce the association with LabourHealth.

"We are certainly appreciative of the support of LabourHealth and we look forward to working with them for what will be an exciting journey," Noyce said. "The sponsorship shows faith in the Sharks brand and for us is an endorsement in the direction the club is heading into the future."

In outlining their business, LabourHealth can be described as a premium company specialising in on-site workplace injury prevention and drug and alcohol testing.

They operate across a broad range of occupations and workplaces, including but not limited to industrial, construction, blue collar trades and transport and logistics.

In addition to their sponsorship, LabourHealth will help implement new drug and alcohol policies and testing practices at the club.

The other arm to the operation, Labourforce, look after the contract employment needs of companies in the transport, logistics and supply chain industry.

The sponsorship will commence this weekend, with the Sharks NRL side to display the LabourHealth logo when they run out onto Allianz Stadium tomorrow night.

LabourHealth has 26 offices around Australia.
