Sharks snare young Dragon

Cronulla have today signed exciting St George Illawarra outside back Jason Kent to a two year term. Kent who has played four games in his debut season at centre and fullback rejected a lucrative two year deal from the Dragons to try and cement a position in the Sharks backline.

Kent said "The opportunity that was presented to me by Chris Anderson made it very enticing to leave the Dragons. I want a start on a regular basis in the NRL and given the players the Sharks have lost, and the number of quality centres that are in front of me at the Dragons, I decided a move would be beneficial for my career."

Kent's manager, Peter Lord added "This has been an extremely stressful preiod for Jason, having played all his junior football for Illawarra and this year playing NRL for the Dragons, he had to think long and hard about leaving the club. In the end it came down to greater opportunities with the Sharks."
