South London Storm will next week begin their preparations for the defence of their two titles won last year. The Rugby League Conference Premier Champions and London League Champions will begin their pre season training in earnest on Tuesday 6th March at 7.30pm at their Frant Road ground in Thornton Heath. The players have already had one session of pre season training in preparation for their Challenge Cup first round match against Thornhill Trojans in January. But since that defeat they have been finishing their post season break. "With the season kicking off at the end of April it is now time to bring the lads back" commented new coach Andy Gilvary. "We worked hard for the Challenge Cup but unfortunately our lack of game time proved decisive. I was very pleased to see the standard of fitness we had at the time and it will be good to work with the boys again to bring this to the level we need to defend both the first team and second team titles. "I know most of the lads have been continuing on personal routines since the Challenge Cup but the team work drills and team fitness is important so it will be good to bring them all back together again." Training starts at Frant Road, Thornton Heath on Tuesday 6th March at 7.30 pm (finishing approximately 9pm). Second training session will be on Thursday 8th March same time same place and continuing on every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the season. New players are always welcome at any time and of any standard. For more details please contact Andy Gilvary on 07730586419 or look on the Storm website at www.stormrl.com
