Cronulla front rower Jason Stevens will contest a knee lifting charge at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night in a bid to play in this weekend's clash against North Queensland in Townsville.
Stevens was hit with a grade one contrary conduct charge, which carries a one week ban, following an incident which flattened Parramatta hooker PJ Marsh on Saturday night.
No decision has been made on the other five charges handed out by the NRL match review committee today, with Parramatta forward Fuifui Moimoi facing an eight-week ban for a high tackle and Manly forward Kylie Leuluai six weeks for a similar offence.
Sydney Roosters skipper Luke Ricketson and Melbourne lock Dallas Johnson are both facing maximum three match bans, while Canberra officials have requested extra video footage from the NRL before deciding whether to contest prop Ben Cross' high tackle charge.
