Stewart raring to go for Sea Eagles

Manly's Test fullback Brett Stewart says he has fully recovered from off-season knee surgery and will play in the Sea Eagles' NRL season opener against Cronulla on Saturday night.

Stewart missed Manly's two pre-season trial games because of lingering pain in his knee but said the added rest had helped him return to full fitness for the season proper.

Stewart's limited preparation has enabled him to increase his muscle mass with additional gym work over summer but the noted try-scorer says he has lost none of his speed.

Manly coach Des Hasler will name his round one side later on Tuesday.
