Storm vow to lift in Crocker's absence

Melbourne is adamant its pack will step up to compensate for the loss of inspirational backrower Michael Crocker in Sunday's NRL grand final against Brisbane.

Crocker will undergo surgery today to repair ligament damage with either Garrett Crossman or Jeremy Smith set to replace the former Australian international. The 26-year-old's absence is a cruel blow for the Storm which has won all 13 games he's played in this year, but winger Matt Geyer is confident the remaining forwards will lift in his absence.

Both teams for Sunday's decider will be named today.
