Superleague signings round-up

Signing news from Superleague over the past week or so, with six clubs having finished their commitments for the season...

Catalan's French half Julien Rinaldi is heading to Harlequins from 2007 on a two year deal. It is said to have been a joint decision between him and his Australian girlfriend, whose sister lives in London. Catalans have signed French players Sebastien Raguin and David Ferriol to join the Superleague club.

Harlequins also announced today that NZ Warrior Sione Faumuina has signed a three year deal with the London side. Harlequins will lose Danny Williams to retirement, Neil Budworth is off-contract, and Luke Dorn is heading to Salford next season.

Wakefield prop Michael Korkidas is also Salford-bound next season. David Solomona has committed his future to the Wildcats, while Huddersfield's Paul March will join his twin brother David at Wakefield next year.

Other players out of contract and leaving Huddersfield are Michael DeVere, Jim Gannon, Wayne McDonald, and Jon Grayshon. This should make room for new signings Shane Elford, John Skandalis, and Jamaal Lolesi.

Wigan are not extending the contract of goal kicking forward Danny Tickle, quoting salary cap constraints. However centre Nathan McAvoy has earned a one-year renewal at Wigan.

Castleford's star July signings Shaun Timmins and Awen Guttenbeil will now not be likely to join the relegation-bound Tigers. Although if Whitehaven or Batley take out the National League One title both are ineligible for promotion this season, and Castleford will retain their place in Superleague hoping that these deals may be back on.

After making a comeback from retirement during the season, Castleford's mecurial halfback Brad Davis is joining the staff of Bath RU club, and the club will lose the services of Danny Nutley to the Sydney Roosters.
