The Tri-Nation formula

Brian Nobles Great Britain team will go into next Saturday's Tri-Nations clash against Australia completely aware of what is required to reach the final - either a three-point win or a two-point victory, scoring 48 points or more. Any other result will mean that Australia and New Zealand will meet at Elland Road on November 26.

Here is the full list of the possible options:

Great Britain win by two points and score more than 48: Australia finish top and play Great Britain.

Great Britain win by three, four or five points: Australia finish top and play Great Britain.

Great Britain win by six or seven points: Great Britain finish top and play Australia. If Great Britain win by eight points and Australia score 43: Great Britain finish top and play Australia.

Great Britain win by eight points and Australia score less than 43: Great Britain finish top and play New Zealand.

Great Britain win by nine points or more: Great Britain finish top and play New Zealand.
