Thurston in doubt, Titans strike again

The North Queensland Cowboys will wait until the weekend before deciding whether Johnathan Thurston takes to the field in Sunday's NRL clash against the Bulldogs on the Gold Coast.

Thurston suffered bruising to his knee during last night's Origin clash and was struggling to walk. If Thurston is ruled out he will join Luke O'Donnell, Ty Williams, Gavin Cooper and Steve Southern in the club's casualty ward.

Meanwhile, Canberra forward Michael Hodgson has agreed to a two-year deal with fledgling NRL club the Gold Coast Titans. The 26-year-old back-rower from Newcastle has played 108 first grade games for Parramatta and the Raiders since making his debut in 1998.

Hodgson says he's looking forward to swapping the cold climate of the nation's capital for the warm weather of the Gold Coast.
