The Wests Tigers have defeated the Melbourne Storm at Leichhardt Oval. Both teams traded blows in the first half in an even contest that saw the Tigers go into half time leading 12 ?10.
In the second half the Storm pushed passes, missed tackles and dropped too much ball to trouble the Tigers. After leading by 2 points at half time the Tigers put themselves 10 points clear with a try to Hassan Saleh and a pentalty goal to Joel Caine.
Storm number 6 Scott Hill got his team within 4 points with a try from dummy half in the 74th minute, but 20 points was too much for the Storm too reel in. Ben Gamea made sure of victory to the Tigers with a well deserved try in the 79th minute, which was converted by outgoing Tiger Kevin McGuinness.
