Tigers take the points in New Zealand

Wests Tigers have beaten the New Zealand Warriors by 30-26 in a topsy-turvy match of football at Mt Smart Stadium.

A modest crowd of 10, 282 turned out to see a game that was at times a frustrating contest, with errors and penalties throughout.

The Tigers opened up the scoring in the 7th minute with a penalty goal, backing that up four minutes later with a clever try from make-shift five-eighth Liam Fulton who accepted a good ball by Todd Payten close to the line.

The Warriors responded five minutes later with a good try to Vatuvei, who had a mixed game. He climbed high to beat Fitzhenry on the wing. Then the Warriors took the lead in the 28th minute through the exciting Jerome Ropati, who took on the line and beat two defenders to plant the ball.

With Loius Anderson in the bin following an indiscretion in the play-the-ball, Wests levelled the scores just before the break with rookie Ben Teo running wide off a ball from John Morris. Hodgson couldn
