Titans Too Slick For Bunnies In Coffs Harbour

The Jetstar Gold Coast Titans have opened their account for 2011 in impressive style with a dominant 42-4 win over Souths in their first full-scale trial match of the pre-season at Coffs Harbour tonight.

With the majority of the club's big guns turning out for their first hit-out of the pre-season, the Jetstar Titans looked both slick in attack and rock solid in defence as they notched an emphatic eight-tries-to-one victory.

Livewire Preston Campbell scored a double after being injected into the match by Coach John Cartwright off the interchange bench in the second half while winger David Mead scored a try in his comeback match from a foot injury before his night ended early due to a minor head knock.

Playing against his former club for the first time, new recruit Luke Capewell was among the standouts for the night in stints at fullback and halfback, helping to set-up a try for Campbell and another for former Dragons winger Joe Vickery.

Fittingly, it was Capewell who had starred for the Rabbitohs in the corresponding match between the two clubs 12 months ago.
