Tony to edge out Paul in halfback race

New Zealand are likely to select Hull's Motu Tony ahead of Robbie Paul in their problem scrum-half position for Saturday's Tri-Nations game against Great Britain in Huddersfield.

Tony has played hooker in the Kiwis' last two games, and alternated between full-back and wing for Hull in the Super League this year.

But with Stacey Jones unavailable for the final later this month and his most obvious replacement Lance Hohaia ruled out for the rest of the tournament by an ankle injury, New Zealand's coach Brian McClennan suggested that he will switch Tony to scrum-half with North Queensland's David Faiumu coming in at hooker.
