Tough times for the Kiwis

The Kiwis are counting the cost of their clash with Great Britain on Saturday night at Huddersfield.

Included in the list of injuries are a broken nose, a possible fractured jaw and a number of leg and shoulder problems.

"It was a bloody tough game," Kiwis coach Brian McClennan said.

"Ruben Wiki is having surgery this afternoon on his nose and our medical staff have been working around the clock to get everyone back to full fitness or as close as possible."

McClennan admits he will have to wait until later in the week to select his side to play France in Toulouse on Friday.

"We've got a number of players who took knocks in the test against Great Britain, so we'll have to see how they progress over the next couple of days before we make any decisions," he said.

"It's a quick turn around and we've got a fair way to travel to get to Toulouse which adds an extra bit to the puzzle.

"But our medical team is very skilled, they've shown already throughout the tour that they can diagnose swiftly and get the players back into action as fast as possible."

The Kiwis are expecting a solid workout in Toulouse.

"The French side has always shown plenty of skill and flair against the Kiwis," McClennan said.

"We're not expecting any different from them this time." More info: www.tri-nations.com.au Discussion: Tri-Nations Forum at http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/forumdisplay.php?f=130
