LEAGUEUNLIMITED.COM PLAYER AWARDS 2008

With just one week to go in the minor premiership rounds, Manly half back Matt Orford has joined Dragons five eighth Jamie Soward at the top of the leader board on 23 points.

Not far away are Sharks half back Brett Kimmorley on 22 points and Raiders five eighth Terry Campese on 20 points. Neither player can be written off at this stage.

Orford has twice won the LeagueUnlimited.com Player of the Year Award, first in the Award's inaugural year in 2003 when he was playing for the Storm, and again in 2004 when he shared the Award with then Roosters half back Brett Finch. Orford has every chance to take out the Award for a record third time when Manly clash with the Panthers this coming weekend.

Soward has been in great form for the Dragons this year and held a handy lead up until a few weeks ago, but injuries intervened with the classy pivot being sidelined for the last fortnight. He is expected to make a return this week against his old club the Roosters, thereby setting up a classic finish to this year's LeagueUnlimited.com Player Awards.
