NRL results and the Leagueunlimited.com Player Awards

ROUND FOUR of the NRL kicked off on Good Friday night with the Canterbury Bulldogs putting an end South Sydney Rabbitoh's unbeaten start to the season. After leading 14-6 at half time, the Bulldogs ultimately hammered the Rabiitohs by 34-10 in front of a Telstra Stadium crowd of 34,315. Meanwhile, reigning premiers the Brisbane Broncos were posting their first win of 2007 with a comprehensive 32-10 victory over cellar dwellers the Sydney Roosters at a rain drenched Aussie Stadium.

Saturday rugby league saw the Melbourne Storm remaining undefeated by beating the Knights 22-12 in Newcastle. In other matches, the North Queensland Cowboys continued their unbeaten start to the season with a thrilling 25-24 victory over a gallant Wests Tigers side in Townsville. Meanwhile at Parramatta Stadium, an under-strength Eels team ran out 38-6 winners against an ill-disciplined Canberra Raiders outfit.

Sunday Football took us to Brookvale Oval where the Manly Sea Eagles crafted a tough win in defeating the New Zealand Warriors 13-10. A short time later, an under-strength Gold Coast Titans posted their first away win by defeating the Panthers 24-22 in an exciting game at Penrith.

Monday Night Football gave us to the local derby with the Cronulla Sharks thrashing the St George Illawarra Dragons by 40-4 in front of crowd of 19,137 people at Toyota Park.

The NRL standings after round four sees three teams undefeated with the Sea Eagles at the top of the ladder. They are joined by the Cowboys and Storm on eight competitions points. The Rabbitohs are next up on six points. What follows is a log jam of seven teams on four points with the Sharks, Panthers, Bulldogs, Warriors, Eels, Titans and Knights all not far away from the front runners. The Broncos, Dragons and Raiders are on one win each while Wests Tigers and Roosters have yet to post a win in 2007.
