Tuesday's Expert Wrap - NRL Round 24

The Bulldogs drew a paltry crowd of less than 10,000 when they faced the Wests Tigers on Thursday night at ANZ Stadium, the 'Dogs stringing back-to-back wins together and keeping their top four aspirations in play by downing the lowly visitors. A fuller Pirtek Stadium on Friday saw the Eels upset competition leaders Manly, then on Saturday the Broncos put the cleaners through Newcastle at Suncorp to stay in the race for the eight themselves. Later that night the Cowboys stunned the second-placed Rabbitohs with a comfortable victory on the back of an outstanding first half.

Sunday bought a triple header for the first time in a long while - it opened with the Roosters dusting up the Warriors at Mt Smart, before a dour contest at Remondis Stadium saw the Raiders seemingly consign the Cronulla outfit to their first wooden spoon since 1969. The Dragons kept pace with the Broncos by comfortably defeating an out-of-sorts Gold Coast Titans at Kogarah in the 3pm match, while Monday night footy was run and won by the Melbourne Storm over Penrith.
