VB NSW CUP MATCH PREVIEWS - ROUND TWENTY FOUR

Auckland Vulcans Vs North Sydney Bears
Mt Smart Stadium #2, Saturday, August 18
Kick-off: 1.00pm (local time)
Referee: Steve Kilgallon
Broadcast: LIVE STREAM available at www.aucklandvulcans.co.nz

Summary:
The Vulcans kept their slim finals hopes alive with a two point win over Balmain Ryde-Eastwood at Leichhardt Oval last weekend, while the Bears drew with the Newtown Jets at North Sydney Oval.

In a timely boost for the Vulcans, try-scoring specialist Glen Fisiiahi has been named to make his return at fullback by Coach Ricky Henry. For the Bears, David Tyrrell will start in the front-row with fellow Rabbitoh Scott Geddes, while Justin Hunt and Roy Asotasi have been named on an extended NRL bench but could make the trip to Auckland at the last minute.

The matchup between two of the inform wingers in the VB NSW Cup will be one to watch as Chris Centrone (Bears) and Ivarn Penehe (Vulcans) do battle at Mt Smart #2. Both have some serious bulk and do plenty of work out of dummy half in the early tackles to alleviate pressure on their forwards.

Desperation football usually brings the best out of the Vulcans but with their spark, Pita Godinet, named as 18th man for the Warriors to play Penrith on Sunday, we struggle to see where they are going to get their points from to match the second-placed Bears.

Talking Point:
Watch it live - The Vulcans trialed their first LIVESTREAM of a match last weekend with outstanding success and they will again be broadcasting this weekend
