Auckland Vulcans Vs Balmain Ryde-Eastwood Tigers
Mt Smart #2, Saturday, May 5
Kick-off: 1.00pm (NZST)
Referee: Steve Kilgallon
Summary: The Vulcans return to Mt Smart following consecutive away wins against the Cutters and Wentworthville in recent weeks while the Tigers head into this clash off the back of a loss to the Wolves at Leichhardt last weekend. The Tigers had put together a nice run of games until they ran into a red hot Wolves outfit last week, but they will need to be at their best here as they face a Vulcans side that is starting to warm to their task. With Lillyman back this week for the Warriors and the likes of the Rapira boys and Michael Luck due back very shortly, this Vulcans side can expect an influx of talent over the coming weeks. Unlike many of the other teams in our competition, the Vulcans are unlikely to be affected badly come Origin time, and they may be able to cash in over that period. Sean Meaney moves to fullback for the Tigers to replace the injured Simona while Waters has been named on an extended bench however it seems his return from injury will be delayed for at least another week.
