Vodafone keeps the faith

The Warriors received some more positive news today when it was announced that their current naming rights sponsor, Vodafone, have elected to continue their association with the NRL club for an extended term.

The Vodafone Warriors have come to terms with one new player, three of their existing NRL squad and their head coach in the past month, but today?s announcement was equally as important as any of the club?s football related signings.

Vodafone had not been obliged to discuss renewal with the Warriors for another six months but in an ongoing show of support have elected to announce their intentions early. Vodafone?s general manager of company communications and sponsorship, Lynley Kirk-Smith, spoke positively of the continued association between the two organisations.

?Our support for the Warriors is built around the message of ?faith? and we wanted to demonstrate that our faith in the team is strong. We decided to bring our announcement forward in order to give the team some encouragement and certainty going forward,? she said.

?Whether they?re experiencing the winning seasons of 2002 and 2003 or this year?s bad patch, the Vodafone Warriors are always exciting to watch. That?s why they have such a dedicated fan base who are with them all the way,? Kirk-Smith added.

The Warriors? General Manager, Spiro Tsiros, was also extremely pleased at today?s announcement.

?Vodafone?s naming rights arrangement with the club is far more than just a commercial sponsorship agreement, it is a true business partnership. The advantages that Vodafone deliver us far exceeds just financial input. The competitive edge that their products and services provide to the day to day running of our business is vitally important,? he said.

?Not only does our relationship provide technological know-how for the Warriors, but the expertise of Vodafone?s marketing and sponsorship team is crucial in building the club?s profile in the marketplace,? Tsiros added.

The new deal will see Vodafone continue as the Warriors? major sponsor until at least November 2007.
