Walker's departure deepens Souths' troubles, opens
door for Manly

South Sydney have been dealt a cruel blow with the National Rugby League's biggest battlers losing prized recruit Chris Walker.

The fallen Queensland State of Origin star walked out on the Rabbitohs yesterday having played only five games in a three-year-contract.

The 23-year-old wants a better performing team to get back into his previous Origin form and will talk with Manly tomorrow about joining his older brother Ben at Brookvale.
