Walker waiting for call

Sydney Roosters flyer Chris Walker says he is hoping to receive a phone call from Queensland State Of Origin selectors following the Maroons' costly loss to NSW last night.

Queensland and the Roosters have lost centre Justin Hodges to a season ending knee injury and Walker says he'll be ready to fill the breach at state level if the Maroons offer him a recall for game two in Sydney on June 25.

Walker played all three games for Queensland in last year's drawn series, but was overlooked for last night's match as he battles a hamstring injury and adjusts to life at the Roosters following his recent defection from Souths. He will train with the Roosters this afternoon and is an outside chance of replacing Hodges for Sunday's match against North Queensland at Aussie Stadium, despite not being named in Ricky Stuart's squad on Tuesday.

Walker says he's definitely available for Origin II.
