Warriors coach daniel Anderson has high priase for his team's defensive effort after beating the Bulldogs 24-20 Warriors Coach Daniel Anderson is playing down the number of high tackles in the Warriors win over the Bulldogs.
The Warriors ran in five tries to three to beat the Dogs 24-20 in a game dominated by strong defence from both teams.
The Warriors coach did not think the high shots were too bad.
He says the defence this year seems to be more intense, especially in the opening few rounds where players' technique is a little rusty.
Anderson says to hold the Dogs out for most of the game was outstanding with the line defence a real step up from last week's game.
He says they were bagged for their defensive effort in the last game so it was something they really worked on during the week.
Meanwhile a ton of work ahead for the Warriors goalkickers this week, with three used on Sunday and only one, P.J. Marsh having any success.
Anderson is a little disappointed the team did not beat the the Bulldogs by more as he believes the Warriors created enough chances to score more points than they did.
He says there were six times where his players were tackled about a metre out from the line, but he is not complaining because the team took the two competition points from the game.
