Wiki will stay a Warrior

Kiwis skipper Ruben Wiki has dismissed British reports that he has been offered a lucrative Super League contract by Monty Betham's new club, Wakefield Trinity.

Internet message forums and a British rugby league newspaper said Trinity had tried to tempt Wiki to walk away from the final two years of his contract with the New Zealand Warriors.

But speaking after New Zealand's 38-22 victory over France in Toulouse, Wiki laughed off those claims.

"I know there's a rumour I am going to Wakefield - some supporter came up to me and told me. I told him I've got another two years at the New Zealand Warriors," he said.

"Someone is spreading some bad rumours, but it's not true. They bring out anything. I am happy in New Zealand and I really enjoyed my footy this year, and I've got two more years there."
