Wildcats Take 8 Points Into 3rd Round Of Rugby League 9s.

The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats had another successful round of the Rugby League 9s last night hosted by Hull FC and Brantingham Park.

The Wildcats won two of their three games and picked up another four points to take with them into the third round.

Wakefield began proceedings as they took on Hull FC in the first match of the night and fell to a disappointing defeat. The Wildcats soon changed their ways and picked up a victory against Hull KR and then went on to beat an impressive Leeds side, with the likes of Chris Clarkson, Jay Pitts and Ali Lautiti on the field, 20-11. After beating them in the first round 18 points to 12, the Wildcats have done the double over Leeds Rhinos and will be hoping to claim more victories to secure their place in the Grand Final of the 9s tournament.

Our two French signings Samy Masselot and Stan Robin were once again very impressive and all the full time players demonstrated true quality. Reserves players Russ Spiers and Lucas Walshaw showed their undoubted potential and the whole evening was an all round fantastic performance from the team.

The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats will be playing in the 3rd round of the competition next Tuesday, 21st June, at The Shay against Halifax RLFC, Bradford Bulls and Hull FC. They are heading into the round with 8 points after wining a total of four matches out of 6.
