Williams seeks leave to appeal

Melbourne Storm?s Danny Williams has today sought leave to appeal the 18-match suspension handed down to him last week by the NRL judiciary for striking Wests forward Mark O?Neill.

The judiciary imposed the record ban last Wednesday following a marathon hearing that lasted almost four hours.

Williams, an inaugural Storm forward and NRL veteran of over 200 first-grade games, has not played since the incident arising from the Storm?s Round 19 clash with the Tigers earlier this season.
