Women in League Lunch to raise funds for Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation

The Coal & Allied Newcastle Knights will hold their first match day Ladies Luncheon during the NRL's Women in League round to raise funds for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation at AUSGRID Stadium when the Knights vs. the Roosters on Sunday 26th June.

Celebrations at the game will also recognise the role women play within the NRL from grassroots to official levels; while the luncheon will be hosted by NBN's Natasha Beyersdorf.

"It is an opportunity to raise funds and awareness whilst encouraging women in business within the Hunter Region to get to the game and network with like minded people," said Matt Gidley, Newcastle Knights Business Development Manager.

"The idea stemmed from our large group of female supporters, The Pink Defenders," he said.
Living Doll Photographer and Founder, Melissa Histon, will speak on behalf of the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation of her experiences with breast cancer, whilst special guest Juliet Rieden will speak of her time as the Executive Editor of the Australian Women's Weekly.

Entertainment will be provided by local girl and Knights Women in League Ambassador, Catherine Britt, winner of a Golden Guitar for Female Artist of the Year in 2009 and 2010 CMA Global Artist of the Year.

Generously donated prizes from Domayne Kotara will be raffled off at the game with all proceeds going to the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation.

Tickets can be purchased from Michelle Smit on 0458300977 or msmit@newcastleknights.com.au
