Wow we got underway - the journey
begins!

Dublin City Exiles got their title defence underway with a comfortable victory over Churchtown Warriors at Terenure on Saturday.

Despite going behind early on, the champions ran in nine tries, including two each from Karl McDonagh and Steve Kane, ontheir way to a 50-16 victory.

Elsewhere in Leinster, Clontarf marked their RL debut by edging out East Coast Eagles in a thrilling game at Castle Avenue while Dublin Blues began their campaign with an impressive win over Kildare Dragons.

This match saw former Suir Valley Saint David Walsh line out for Kilkenny alongside his son Barry. Wildcats coach Damien Welland had been helping Waterford during their pre-season preparations but the 40-16 scoreline suggests that he might have kept a few tricks in his back pocket!
