Wrigley Remains at the Dragons

The St George Illawarra Dragons today announce that NRL Assistant Coach Kurt Wrigley has accepted an offer to extend his tenure with the Club for a further 12 months. Wrigley was contracted at the Dragons until the end of 2007 but has accepted an offer to remain with the Club until the end of 2008.

Wrigley has established himself as an integral part of the Dragons Coaching staff after spending time with the Adelaide Rams (1998) and the Cronulla Sharks (2001-2003) in different roles from Junior Reps through to NRL level.

He joined Head Coach Nathan Brown at the Dragons for the 2004 season and has since helped Nathan with the side?s attack, kicking, statistical analysis and forward planning.

?Kurt is a wonderful coach who has helped me considerably since joining the club in 2004. I have no doubt that he himself will become a Head Coach in the near future,? Brown said.

Wrigley was recently offered the opportunity to join the Canberra Raiders under Neil Henry but has decided to stay with the Dragons.

?Whilst the offer from the Raiders was attractive. Nathan and the Management are pleased with my input,? Wrigley said.

?Staying at the Dragons will further my development as a Coach and I look forward to continuing my role at the club until the end of 2008?
