8th Place - New Zealand Warriors

Reasons:

Mt Smart Stadium: Whilst their away form in 2008 was nothing to get excited about, their form at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland was significantly formidable. The Warriors managed to win 10 from 13 matches at home including impressive victories over the Storm, Sharks, Broncos and a rousing finals defeat of the Roosters. Backrow Young Guns: 2008 for the Warriors will also be remembered for the emergence of two of the most promising young backrowers in the competition. Ben Matulino and Sonny Fai made their respective debuts for the Warriors this season and look to have a long future with the club. Sonny Fai also showed his versatility playing some centre and getting over the try line on a regular basis before finishing the season in the National Youth Competition. Matulino looks like he has cemented a run on spot in the Warriors Like
