A new face on the 2004 Wigan Rugby League squad photograph of 2004 is young forward Bob Beswick.
The 19 year old has put pen to paper on a one year deal this week and has been issued with squad number 24 for Super League IX.
Beswick impressed the Coaching staff towards the end of 2003 and played his part in the Under 21's Grand Final success against the Bradford Bulls. Beswick is Wigan born and attended the towns Beech Hill and Deanery Schools and played for Wigan St Patrick's. Bob figured for England Academy in the historic 2003 win over Australian Schoolboys which was coached by Wigan duo Mike Gregory and Assistant David Lyon.
Wigan Rugby Executive Dean Bell said,
"Bob is an exciting prospect and his progression through to the first team squad continues the policy of bringing young players through the ranks. We have a fantastic youth system within the club and Bob is the latest player to benefit from the development."
Prior to becoming a full time pro with the club Bob had been working within the Clubs Community Development Programme.
