Fake Post

ALL season I?ve been posting in forum 7s. I haven?t missed a game, and the elegant prose that you are currently reading confirms this fact. I?ve noticed that I?m one of only two posters to have contributed in all 8 regular season games, and I?m starting to get a bit of an ego about it. Just last week I got out the tin foil, glitter, cardboard and elbow macaroni, and constructed a spectacular WWE-style belt for myself, emblazoned with the words ?Forum 7s Iron Man?. Unfortunately, even we greats suffer from writer?s block from time to time, not to mention the scourge of ever poster?s existence, Ican?tbebotheredwritingsoI?lldoitinthelasthalfhour syndrome (see how I cheated my way to thirteen extra words there? Oh?damn.)

Evening Passed, and Morning Came: Benji?s First Day

LIFE is full of moments that radically alter the way you look at things. Sometimes you can put a finger on specific events or circumstances that, for better or worse, distinctly influence the future of your being, the nature of your self. In other instances, change is more gradual ? people, places, years, faces?a confluence of things, things that slowly, imperceptibly alter. Maybe you don?t realise it now, maybe you never will, but things have changed, fundamentally ? the world is hollower or more complete, simpler or more complex, more tainted or more beautiful.

The benefit of a local ground?

THIS weekend marks the return of Rugby League to the Moreton Bay Fig trees at old North Sydney Oval, and while expansion has been the talk of the town in recent weeks, it seems that all that is old is new again. Many teams have returned in recent years to their ancestral homes, however questions have invariably arisen not about only the quality of the stadiums, but also the safety and numbers of patrons that can be catered for.

MY father, a dedicated League fan and an ex-bush player, who had once played against the great Poppa Clay, decided that his 13-year-old son, a dedicated League fan and semi-dedicated Soccer player, should try League. After much parental ?convincing?, his son agreed to his request. A quick call to the local under 14?s coach later and my Rugby League career was born.

Despite the controversy, League just keeps getting stronger

IT was the type of year which started off on the worst foot possible, two sexual assault scandals, a handful of sponsors not paying for what they received last year, and players who usually had faultless reputations just coughing up the wrong comments at the wrong time. All the media would focus on was how much of a crisis the code was in, and how the sport would just go backwards after such a good 2003 season.

Sharks terminate Sydney Airport Jets Finals hopes

THE Sydney Airport Jets chose the worst possible occasion to turn in one of their least impressive performances of the year, when they were trounced 48-6 by the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the crucial VB Premier League match played at Toyota Park on Saturday evening. This win allowed the Sharks to keep their own slim finals hopes alive, while bringing Newtown's tenacious playoffs campaign to an undignified end. Newtown trailed the Sharks 10-6 midway through the first half, but that was as close as the Jets were to get all night. Cronulla led 18-6 at half-time, and added five unanswered tries in the second half as the Jets performance deteriorated.
