MELBOURNE chief John Ribot has questioned the validity of the City-Country rugby league match after top players were ruled out today for the second time in three years.
LACHLAN Murdoch has acted as a go-between to arrange a rugby league Test match between Australia and the United States in New York later this year, US league official David Niu said today.

After a training session at St Albans on Sunday, coach Peter Tonkin selected 22 players which will be reduced to 20 for the game tonight. They represent six different teams from the south-east and include several interesting names, not least Skolars' Vietnamese half-back Huy Lee.
Of the St Albans players, hooker Richard Smith captained the RLC Lionhearts last year; Matt Thomas used to play for the Broncos academy; Adam Cox played second grade for Adelaide Rams; Dene Miller was in the NL3 2003 Dream Team;
Graeme Lumley and Alex Murphy made their debuts in our Powergen Challenge Cup defeat at Birkenshaw and Alex hopes to be watched by his cousin, Penrith Panthers star Luke Rooney, tonight! Penrith play Bradford in the World Club Challenge tomorrow.
