A wet and wintry Puketawhero Park in Rotorua greeted the two top runners in NZ's Bartercard Cup competition so far in 2004. A small but vocal crowd braved the sloppy conditions to watch the home side Waicoa Bay Stallions take on the might of Marist Richmond Brothers. Both these sides were undefeated going into the match, and after an 80 minute slog with the rain worsening as time went on, both sides remain unbeaten as they fought out to an 18 all draw.

IN a strong second half performance the Newcastle Knights have beaten the South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-8 at Energy Australia Stadium.
THE North Queensland Cowboys have upset the Parramatta Eels 24-20 at Parramatta Stadium this evening. The Cowboys held a commanding 20-0 lead at halftime but were almost run down with the Eels getting within a converted try with just over five minutes remaining.
THE West Indies Rugby League Federation is currently looking at potential names for the representative side, and is asking for the fans of Rugby League to provide some suggestions. Similar to how the Australian national team is known as the Kangaroos and French side, the Chanticleers, the West Indies are after a name which can instantly be associated with the region.
