The Flegg team went into this game without their in form fullback, Shannon Gallant who had been called into the premier league team. He was replaced by Don Thompson who was returning from injury.

Heart Breaking Loss For North Sydney Against The Bulldogs

A try to Canterbury with only a few seconds left on the clock has cost the North Sydney Bears a win at the Sydney Showground. The Bulldogs scored in the 79th minute to level the scores at 30 all and with the successful conversion the Bulldogs won 32-30. Even more costly than the Bears last minute lapse in defence was a try to the Bulldogs 17 minutes earlier where the Bulldogs scored despite seemingly being pushed into touch and knocking on during the lead up.

SHOWERS greeted the players as they ran onto EnergyAustralia Stadium for the round 17 encounter between the Newcastle Knights, running 7th and 4th placed Sydney Roosters. The Knights were severely understrength for this match as once again, their never-ending injury toll ate into their Premier League side.
