Andrew Voss - Going in Boots n All

IN 2001 Andrew Voss originally intended to make a rugby league bloopers type of show. The format was to run four to six weeks, however thanks to a great response from the fans, the show evolved into what it is today - "Boots n All".

Come for the football

A cool winter afternoon, sun beaming down onto the field, the shadow of the grandstand slowly creeping over the ground. Children kick footballs around, mates in rival colours rib each other, others wave their flags and wear their team jersey with pride. The cheery old men with the booming voices sell junior league doubles, ?doubles on the main game? they cry.

The Complete Idiots Guide to Coaching

ALRIGHT alright, so maybe I could've been a little less mainstream and entitled the article 'Attention Chris Anderson'. Let's be honest for a moment though, how many of us have painfully sat and watched our teams play, scratching our heads in confusion and saying 'I can't believe the coach made that decision!' Whether it be team selection, or style of play, you get the drift, just anything that makes you wonder 'what the heck was coach such and such thinking there?'

DOLPHIN TRIVIA: Name 3 players to have played first grade for both Redcliffe & Ipswich?

Former Brothers Valleys Colt makes the grade

RISING star Jason Chan has been selected to make his senior debut for the St George Illawarra Premier League side this Sunday at Kogarah Oki Jubilee Stadium against Cronulla. Chan is one of several young players signed by the Dragons this year from Qld Cup affiliate club Brothers Valleys. Dragons Development Officer Craig Young rates the young Queenslander highly and tipped Chan for greater honours from the first time he saw him play. In a meteoric rise, Jason Chan has progressed from an outstanding 2003 season with Brothers Valleys Colts (which included several cameo appearances in the Mixwell Cup) and continued his strong form to be a standout in the Illawarra Jersey Flegg squad this season culminating in his elevation the Premier League this weekend. All at Brothers Valleys wish Jason well as he makes his senior debut and provides a glowing example of the high quality of talented young men being developed through the Blues network of junior and senior clubs throughout Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

Gameplan Works

THE Redcliffe Dolphins moved into equal fourth spot on the Queensland Cup ladder after their 32-20 away win over North Queensland in Cairns on Saturday. The opening 20 minutes was a war of attrition but Redcliffe broke the deadlock with a try to former Cowboy Brian Jellick in the 21st minute. Redcliffe coach Neil Wharton knew the opening stages would be vital and was pleased with his team?s defensive efforts, especially after they were reduced to 15 fit men. Late inclusion Danny Burke came off early in the game and did not return, while front-rower Adam Starr turned in an outstanding effort despite being in bed vomiting just hours before kick off and Matt Anderton recovered from a twisted ankle in the warm up to take his place on the bench. Redcliffe pushed it?s lead out to 20-4 at halftime with tries to Jellick, Ben Jones, Joel Barnes and Nathan Sologinkin. Playmakers Shane Perry and Mick Roberts were involved in well crafted tries from kicks. Second half tries to Danny Green and Perry gave Redcliffe a much needed victory. Wharton said Adam Starr, Troy Lindsay and Ben Jones were the cornerstone for the victory laying the platform for the backs to strut their stuff. Redcliffe 32 (J.Barnes, B.Jellick, B.Jones, S.Perry, D.Green, N.Sologinkin tries J.McKay 3, D.Richters goals) North Queensland 20 (B.Bowen 2, V.Akiba, M.Scott tries B.Bowen, D.Limpus goals)

Redcliffe disappointed by Gold Coast bid

THE Redcliffe club is disappointed the proposed Gold Coast side is using the Dolphin as its logo. The Redcliffe Club who have been known as the Dolphins since 1968 feel that the Gold Coast?s bid teams marketing experts could have come up with a different name. When most people think of the Dolphins involving Rugby League in not only South East Queensland but nationally they associate it with the Redcliffe Club. Whether they love or hate Redcliffe it?s the Club they associate the logo with.
