A look at the charges from Round 23 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Melbourne winger Suliasi Vunivalu is hit with a $1,100 fine (early plea, $1,500 if unsuccessfully challenged or no contest), after a bizarre action where he lifted his legs while returning a kick, making dangerous contact with Roosters pair Connor Watson and Aidan Guerra. The Grade 1 Contrary Conduct charge carries no points.

Manly's Martin Taupau picked up a charge against his old team, facing a $2,100 fine as Vunivalu after a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Tigers hooker Matt McIlwrick. The regular $1,500 is increased due to 3 prior offences.

Lastly, Ben Matulino from the Warriors is facing one match on the sidelines after being hit with a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge on Canberra's Elliot Whitehead. He could miss two weeks if he challenges unsuccesfully.
