Hull KR have continued their Super League resurgence after a tough start to 2026 with a 24-6 victory in a fiery Hull Derby over Hull FC.
It was the hosts that had an ideal start to the game as they punished the black and whites for poor discipline. A lovely inside pass from Mikey Lewis found fullback Jack Broadbent steaming onto a pass to lead 6-0. Broadbent was called upon soon after to save the day with a terrific cover tackle on Lewis Martin to stop a certain FC try.
Continued poor discipline hurt FC and there was a second try soon calling for the Robins. A terrific movement out to the middle forced the visitors defence to compress, allowing the hosts to work the ball back to the left and Oliver Gildart tumbled his way over the line for a 10-0 lead.
Having weathered the storm against the Hull KR attack, eventually the tide of penalties and possession turned and the black and whites built possession and found a try in the shadows of half-time. A terrific, lofted pass from Aidan Sezer landed in the arms of Tom Briscoe who beat the cover tackle to make it a 10-6 score at half-time.
The second half was a tight affair early but it was soon broken open by a Tyrone May linebreak who quickly found Jez Litten to score under the posts. There was a scuffle post try, with Lewis fortunate to avoid the sin bin after running a fair distance to get involved.
Hull KR put the game beyond doubt in the final ten minutes when a terrific Gildart offload put Joe Burgess into space to touch down in the corner. Lewis added further spice to the rivalry as he waved the rival Hull FC fans back home.
Burgess added a second for good measure in the dying moments when Broadbent and the 2025 Rob Burrow Trophy winner Lewis combined to send the English winger over to cap off a terrific performance from the Robins.

St Helens have scored four tries in eight minutes to come from 14 points behind to defeat the Wigan Warriors in an epic Super League clash at BrewDog Stadium.
Wigan opened the scoring after just seven minutes when St Helens errors proved costly. A show and go from Harry Smith allowed him to score an individual try and give the visitors an early lead. Despite a horror injury toll, Saints were well up for this game and makeshift centre Matt Whitely got on the outside of Liam Farrell to bring the hosts two points adrift.
However, Wigan broke the game open with a Jack Farrimond bomb. Zach Eckersley leapt highest, batting the ball back to the replacement half who touched down for an eight point lead. Daryl Clark charged over from dummy half in a piece of solo individual brilliance to keep the Saints well in the contest at 12-10 at half-time.
Jai Field on return from injury broke the derby open in the 54th minute when he was on the end of a bit of Smith brilliance. The English half stepped away from rushing defence to put boot to ball and Field raced through to score. Wigan appeared to have the game won just past the hour mark when Brad O'Neill sent Oliver Partington away before linking up with Eckersley to make it 24-10.
But as they say, you NEVER write off the Saints. Lewis Murphy atoned for a rough afternoon with a fast break down the left edge. The former Wakefield winger flicked it inside for Jackson Hastings and there was hope for the Saints.
Adam Keighran had a rough second half conceding four foul play penalties and a high tackle penalty coming out of yardage proved critical. Tristan Sailor was allowed to step his way through to reduce the gap to just two points and Wigan were getting shaky feet.
With the afermentioned injury crisis smashing the Saints roster. They had to reach out to Hull KR for two loanees and one of them wrote his name in derby folklore. Bill Leyland, a backup hooker at Rovers charged over from dummy half to give Saints an unlikely lead. Off the short kickoff, Keighran's bat back was spilt by Field and Leyland had a double in 45 seconds to give Saints a miraculous Derby victory.

For the first time in over a decade, a Bradford v Leeds showdown has taken place in the Super League with the Rhinos running away with victory at the Odsal.
The hosts opened the scoring after 11 minutes when a Rowan Milnes grubber kick sat up in the in-goal for Waqa Blake and the Fijian international continued his strong start to 2026 with another four-pointer. Leeds quickly hit back through future Perth Bear James McDonnell. The Irish international put a grubber through and won the race to the ball to take the lead.
Bradford responded in front of a vocal home crowd to take the lead into half-time. Caleb Aekins caused problems down Leeds' left side and broke away. Connor Wynne backed up in support to give the Bulls an 8-6 lead at half-time.
Leeds started the second half in emphatic style with Jack Bird crossing in back-to-back matches. A sharp pass at the line from Brodie Croft landed in Bird's arms who ran a terrific line to touch down and regain the lead. Six minutes later, Ash Handley busted through after terrific leadup work from Cam Smith. Handley had plenty of work to do but touched down to give the Rhinos a 10-point lead.
Jake Connor added a penalty goal to give his side a 12-point lead and with the Bulls goal kicking issues, it would prove decisive. Cooper Jenkins put the game beyond doubt inside the final ten minutes when he crashed over on a barge over play to make it 24-8. Bradford added a consolation try when Aekins crossed but it was in vein as the home side dropped their first game at the Odsal in 2026 and the Rhinos picked up a critical victory.

The Huddersfield Giants have backed up last week's shock win over Wigan with a strong showing at home against a disappointing York Knights outfit with York coach Mark Applegarth promising changes after a poor performance.
A fast start for the Giants saw three tries in the first 15 minutes as the Knights effort was questioned by their coach post game. A loose pass was scooped up by Adam Clune to touch down after six minutes and the signs were ominous for the York side.
Minutes later, Niall Evalds charged through a poor tackle from Ata Hingano to give the Giants a 12-0 lead. Tanguy Zenon continued his good run of recent form with a try in the 14th minute and the Knights were in dire straits.
York had to be next to score and it was a Hingano grubber kick that sat up for Will Roberts to touch down. Five minutes later, David Nofoaluma continued his strong showings for York with a critical try to make it 18-8 at half-time.
Unfortunately for the newly promoted side, the Giants were simply too strong in the second half and opened the scoring through Jacob Gagai. The centre was way too powerful despite several defenders on him and the try was awarded by James Vella. Gagai soon had a second try with 26 minutes to play when he split his way through some poor defensive efforts on York's right edge for a solo bit of brilliance.
Nikau Williams added some scoreboard credibility for the Knights with 12 minutes to play when Paul McShane lofted a brilliant pass over the top for the centre to score. But it was Huddersfield's day again when Zac Woolford added salt to the Knights wound with a try in the final ten minutes.

Warrington have continued Leigh's horror start to season 2026 with a 42-6 victory at home, sending Leigh crashing towards the bottom of the table.
A cross kick caused early problems for the visitors when their inability to defuse the kick saw Warrington respond quickly. Fast hands from the kick saw Josh Smith cross for the first try of the contest and an early 6-0 cushion for the hosts.
The Leopards were looking to get into the contest after the fast start from the Wire, but that was put on the back burner when Gareth O'Brien's pass was intercepted by Matty Ashton who raced away to score the Wolves second.
15 minutes later, the Wolves had their third when a Toby King offload saw George Williams quickly link up with James Bentley to touch down for an 18-0 lead. In the shadows of half-time, Joe Philbin touched down off a perfect Marc Sneyd kick and the Wire led 24-0 at the break with Leigh desperate for answers.
Any talk of a Leigh revival was quickly extinguished in the second half as the Wire scored two quick tries in the 55th and 58th minute to quickly put the game out of the Leopards' grasp. Williams decided to take on the line to score a terrific solo try to break the spirit of the Leopards. Before moments later, Ashton crossed for his second try when Williams combined with Josh Thewlis to touch down in the corner.
Leigh had their moment in the sun just after the hour mark but it was all in the name of consolation. Adam Cook touched down when he ran onto a flat pass from Lachie Lam to get the Leopards off the duck-egg. But the Wire had the last laugh when Sam Powell crossed in the final ten minutes to put the coating on the Easter egg and a 36-point victory.

The Catalans Dragons have survived a tenacious Toulouse side to take the spoils in the French derby by 33-26 at Stade Gilbert Brutus.
It was a sketchy start for the Dragons with Kruise Leeming sin-binned in the first five minutes for a professional foul. But, they soon rebounded to post first points as Toby Sexton carried several defenders on his way to the line.
Minutes later, Leo Darrélatour crossed after Sexton combined with Zac Lipowicz and the former Panther delivered a brilliant pass out wide for the Frenchman's first of two tries. Just past the midway mark, Nick Cotric charged over from a great pass from Lewis Dodd for a 16-0 lead.
The game changed after that as Toulouse grabbed three tries in 11 minutes to tie us up at half-time. The first came after 28 minutes when Mathieu Jussaume crossed for the first of his three tries after a terrific pass from former Dragon Cesar Rougé.
Next was Rougé again causing nightmares for his old club with a grubber kick sitting up inch perfectly for Olly Ashall-Bolt to touch down. Jussaume had his second in the shadows of half-time when he crashed over from short range and it was remarkably a tie game at the change of ends.
Catalans needed half-time and they responded with two quick tries. A neat flick pass from Solomona Fa'atape gave Darrélatour his second try of the contest in the 48th minute. Moments later, Fa'atape had one of his own after being on the end of a series of terrific offloads down the left edge to score.
Jussaume kept the visitors in touch with his hattrick being complete 15 minutes from time after a sharp pass from Ashall-Bolt sent the backrower over for his hattrick. Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e crossed inside the final 10 minutes when he got on the outside of the defence to score. Leeming added a field goal for a three possession lead before Luke Polselli added a try in garbage time to make the score more respectable at 33-26.

Wakefield have continued their strong start to 2026 with a shutout 34-0 victory over Castleford at the Jungle.
The signs were ominous for the Tigers early when a lovely individual effort from Jake Trueman had the Tigers behind their posts after four minutes. The five-eighth stepped through several poor defensive efforts to score first for Wakefield.
Just before the midway mark of the first half, the visitors crossed for a second try. From a standing start, centre Corey Hall stood up the right edge of the Castleford side and crossed over in the corner to give the visitors a two score lead.
On the stroke of half-time, Trey Lolesio got a fantastic offload away to Tyson Smoothy as the former Broncos premiership winner scored a fantastic try. Castleford's defence fell away in the first half, conceding three tries to be down 16-0 at the change of ends.
Max Jowitt added a penalty goal in the 52nd minute to give the visitors an 18-0 lead and quickly after they added a fourth try. Mason Lino on return from injury combined brilliantly with Jowitt to send Oli Pratt diving over in the corner for a 22-0 lead.
Despite the hosts best efforts through Krystian Mapapalangi's break in the final quarter, they were unable to break the Wakefield defence and suffered two more tries against them in the final 15 minutes. With 11 minutes remaining, Cam Scott touched down for a 28-0 game before Pratt got his second try in the final 10 minutes to put the icing on a humiliating day for the hosts losing by 34 points.
