Eels Statement on Nathan Peats

Parramatta Eels player Nathan Peats has been served with disciplinary sanctions due to breaking the NRL Code of Conduct in October last year, prior to joining the club.

Peats was involved in two related incidents, and while no criminal charges were laid, following an internal investigation and consultation with the NRL Integrity Unit, it was deemed that the player had breached the NRL Code of Conduct.

The club has enforced the following sanctions:

· Four game ban (three games suspended until October)

· $10,000 fine (50% of fine suspended until October)

· Undergo Anger Management Course provided by NRL Welfare and Education Department

Peats has accepted the penalty and will not be available for selection for Saturday’s game against the Sydney Roosters.

The club will make no further comment on this matter.
