Roosters CEO Canavan quits

In a sudden move, Sydney Roosters official Brian Canavan has resigned from his position as chief executive of the club.

Canavan was appointed to the position five years ago (September 11, 2003), taking over from Bernie Gurr. The decision to quit yesterday was met with surprise.

At this stage, no replacement has been announced with the Roosters reportedly looking for a new chief exceutive outside the club.

Canavan will officially leave the Roosters in a fortnight.
