Meeting for the first time since the Bulldogs Good Friday massacre, look for South Sydney to come out fired up, but the Bulldogs to end up on top heading into next weeks finals series.

After starting the season in emphatic fashion, South Sydney will finish their season at the end of 80 minutes tonight. A run of eight consecutive losses midway through the year cruelled the Rabbitohs chances, but a late season charge has Michael Maguire's men in position to finish 2016 on a positive note.

A loss could have dire consequences for the Bulldogs, with the side potentially slipping down to seventh should the Rabbitohs triumph tonight.

With a win the Bulldogs can mathematically finish in fourth position, but realistically the best the Blue and Whites can do with a win is a fifth placed finish.

Both sides are as per program, with both coaches fielding the 1-17 as named on Tuesday.
