Player to have a big year - Ben Ross
In 2003-2005 Ben Ross was a household name with the world at his feet. A young and blockbusting State of Origin prop. Fast forward to 2007, a year after being cut by his favourite club Penrith and a national coach looking to get rid of him to accommodate Willie Mason. But as quickly as his fortunes changed then, Stuart has now made him part of the Sharks leadership group.
Ross has been reportedly training the house down in the shire, putting massive time in on the dunes at Cronulla. He is now back down to his 2003 weight of 110kg and will be looking to cement his starting spot and be the forward leader Cronulla need him to be so Greg Bird and Paul Gallen can show their wares. Expect Ross to be pushing for origin selection again this year.
You may be wondering who Karl Filiga is, well this young kiwi made headlines last year when he was poached from the Bulldogs by Ricky Stuart for a reported $200,000 a season, but at that time he was Karl McNicoll. While $200k isn
