NRL Match Review: Round 23

Twelve players are facing time on the sidelines after being charged over the first seven games of Round 23 in the 2015 Telstra Premiership.

From Thursday night's clash with the Cowboys, Rabbitohs pair Luke Keary (Grade 1 Shoulder Charge) and Issac Luke (Grade 1 Dangerous Throw) will both miss next weeks' game against Canterbury after accepting the early guilty plea, although Issac Luke will contest his additional charge of a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge picked up in the same match on Wednesday night at the NRL judiciary.

Jorge Taufua (Manly) and Jordan Rapana (Raiders) have both been hit with Grade 1 Shoulder Charge from yesterday's clash at GIO Stadium, while Aiden Guerra (Roosters) and Lachlan Burr (Titans) also face the same charge. Rapana and Guerra are facing two weeks out due to loading, while Taufua and Burr will miss just one week - all provided these players opt for the early guilty plea.

Away from shoulder charges, Sam Rapira (Warriors) will face a Grade 1 Dangerous Throw charge which will see him miss a week, while Penrith's Reagan Campbell-Gillard has been hit with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle charge but will escape suspension with the early plea. From the same match Sam Tomkins (Warriors) will miss no games after dangerous contact on Lewis Brown. Blake Ferguson (Roosters) will escape suspension for an attempted trip on Semi Radradra, Mitchell Barnett (Raiders) lso will be free to play after a careless high tackle on Manly's Jake Trbojevic, and the Gold Coast's Agnatius Paasi is free to play with the early plea after taking out Brett Morris in the air yesterday in his side's clash with Canterbury.

All players charged fresh today have until lunch time tomorrow (Tuesday) AEST to respond to the charges.


Holden Cup Round 23 Match Review

Four players face a total of five charges from the weekend's Under 20's matches.

South Sydney's Liam Coleman will miss Friday's clash with Canterbury after being charged with a Grade 1 Dangerous Throw. Manly's Liam Knight will escape suspension on the same charge having no prior loading.

Cronulla's Harrison Muller faces two charges from the Match Review Committee after a 2nd minute Grade 1 Shoulder Charge in his side's clash with Melbourne, then a 56th minute Grade 1 Dangerous Throw. Combined he will miss two weeks with the early plea, but could miss three if he opts to contest both charges and lose.

St George Illawarra will lose Kelly Tate for one match after he was also hit with a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge against Brisbane on Friday. He will miss Thursday evening's clash with the ladder-leading Panthers unless he opts to fight the charge. If unsuccessful he will also miss the Dragons' Round 25 clash with the Titans.
