In the Spotlight - 2015 Round 22

Why hello there, and welcome to the penultimate edition of In The Spotlight!

Doesn't our good mate Rugby League love an upset? How about the slippery Eels, knocking off the red-hot Eagles? If that wasn't enough, the embattled Knights travelled down to Melbourne and in the words of the great S. Price, "pulled the pants down" of the Storm!

Just two weeks to go until the big games start and there's more sub-plots than a Game of Thrones episode (minus the killing and sex, mostly). The battle is on to decide the minor premiers, and the sneaky beer fund cash injection the JJ Giltinan Shield provides...oh, and the prestige etc. The Seagles bundle-dropping has most likely cost them any hope of reaching the finals, but you just never know your luck in the big city. Gold Coast will play a crucial role in helping or hindering Manly when they host the eighth-placed Saints, not to mention their own bid to avoid that dreaded wooden spoon.

Does anyone want fourth spot? The Doggies put their hand up with a belting of the Bunnies, while the Storm need to bounce back to be any chance. But let's be real here, the big issue is this; where are the bottom eight sides going for their end-of-season trip? I'm personally a bit annoyed the Sharkies are in the eight, because the Fifita boys could do some serious damage, wherever they end up.

Let's get the old crystal ball out and see who's under the pump for Round number 25, shall we? (Don't answer that, it was a rhetorical question. And I can't hear you anyway. Unless you record your response and email it to me? Or maybe give me a buzz? Probably not much point though, I guess. Yeah, well, anyway...I digress.)

Sam Kasiano

Big Kas could very well be the key to the Bulldogs finals charge. He's as big as four houses, has an offload and has some pretty handy footwork to boot (see the little pun I slipped in there?). The Dogs have roared into serious premiership calculations after the Chooks and Cowboys suffered some key injuries last week. At 350 kilograms and standing at 12 feet tall, he's a pretty good weapon to have coming off the bench.

Semi Radradra

The fella so good his surname has the word 'rad' in it not once, but twice. Dubbed the Semi-trailer because he drives trucks in his spare time (no he doesn't, that's a blatant lie), the Eels flyer has soared his way over for 21 tries this season and he looms as a key figure this weekend as his side strives for another upset win. I might lock him in for another double.

That'll be it for this esteemed edition. Be good to each other.
