Titans' Srama out for season

Hooker Matt Srama has been hit with the terrible news that his season is over after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament tear while playing for Burleigh Bears on Saturday.

The 25-year-old who had been in great form for the Bears, suffered the injury with no contact while running back chasing a runaway Falcons player early inm the second half in the clash with the Sunshine Coast Falcons.

He unfortunately joins Kane Elgey who suffered the same fate while doing a simple defensive drill in the first training session of 2016 after the Christmas break.

"It happened a bit like Kane's, I just turned and chased in defence and the knee got in an awkward position and it just went on me."

David Hala also suffered a knee injury in the match but it hoping to be fit for this weekend.

Under-20s centre Brian Kelly suffered a low grade ankle injury on Saturday and will miss this weekend's clash but hopes to return the week after, while Jed Cartwright came off in the first half against the Tigers but is fit to lead the side against the Raiders.

In other injury news Eddy Pettybourne is set to return this weekend after being sidelined with a corked thigh suffered in the round one victory over Newcastle Knights.

Fullback Will Zillman hopes to return to full training later this week but has not been selected for Saturday's clash with the Raiders, and will hopefully return the following weekend.
