In the Spotlight - 2016 NRL Round 7

Like any good man, you can't keep me down and after two weeks desperately searching through the wilderness, In The Spotlight returns to do some roasting and toasting in round 7 of the NRL season!

Let's start with the worst side in the comp and work our way up.

My beloved St George Illawarra Dragons haven't had much of a Queensland holiday so far. Townsville at any time of the year is sensational, but I guess it's not quite as much fun when the local side uses you as a punching bag for 80 minutes. Week after, how about a trip to play the team that lead last year's decider until about 79:58 minutes?  A great chance to see Brisbane, get the attack up and firing again! Another 80 point-less minutes ensued and now the Gold Coast ‘we aren't nearly as bad as everyone thought we'd be' Titans are up next at Robina, or See Bus, or Spotless, or 1300 Frowns... whatever they call their stadium up there these days.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Cows and the Broncs are looking as ominous as an angry Dolph Lundgren wielding a baseball bat wrapped in wire. The Eels are keeping the salary cap cops at bay for the moment and they continued their winning ways and gave old Sticky Stuart a pretty rough arvo at Parramatta as well. Melbourne are looking a tad shaky, but I wouldn't be writing off any side with part-time accountant Cam Smith, part-time fireman Cooper Cronk and full-time beast Cameron Munster in it.

Let's give round 7 a snoopity snoop.

The entire St George Illawarra side
In an unprecedented move by ITS, I have decided to hurl an entire footy side underneath the bus this week.  Maybe the poor old Red V thought they were up in Queensland for a golf tournament the past two weeks they're happy with being ‘on par'? I hope Mary and co aren't quite that confused and realise they're actually a Rugby League team, and one which was pretty handy at the start of the decade. Away from home against an underrated opposition and having copped a HAMMERING from all and sundry, let's see how the Dragons respond.

Tui Lolohea
You wouldn't want to be a Warriors fan, would ya? On paper a genuinely top 4 side and struggling yet again. The points haven't flowed quite as thick and fast as they might have hoped, but the whole not wanting to tackle thing is a bit of a concern too. The fleet-footed Lolohea joins Shaun Johnson in the halves this week against a powerful Doggies unit coming into the game fresh off beating the Storm in Melbourne. Last week the Warriors played the polite host to perfection, falling off tackles all over the shop in a 34-18 submission to Manly. Hopefully they can show some Lolohea-rt this week.

You can use that one if you want.

Catch ya'll next week!
