Panthers cruise past Sea Eagles, into finals

v BYE

Penrith Panthers have warmed up for the finals with a 36-6 victory over the Manly Sea Eagles in front of 15,411 fans at Penrith Park.

It was a 30 point blitzkrieg from the Panthers to blow away a Manly side that was already on their Mad Monday celebrations. Matthew Moylan was the architect with three try-assists in an exciting performance.

The scoring started early and often - in the fourth minute Josh Mansour with the typical athletic winger finish followed by Bryce Cartwright slicing through after a pinpoint Moylan ball to make it 12-nil after the first quarter of the match.

All 15,411 fans in the stands were on their feet only minutes later when Dallin Watene-Zelezniak finished off a line break that was started by Waqa Blake and of course Moylan down the right side as Manly wilted.

The hits continued coming as Peter Wallace in his new role as a hooker dived over for a rare four pointer as Moylan racked up his third assist of the half and the lead exploded out to 24 points.

Bryce Cartwright got into the action with a pinpoint grubber on the halftime whistle, which gave Mansour a first half brace and sent the fans delirious with joy after a 30 point haul in forty minutes of football.

Their would obviously be a come down after the resumption after a perfect completion rate in the first half, Panthers dropped their first two uses. They rebounded though and Blake just toyed with the defense to slam it down.

Manly would earn themselves some consolation when prop Jake Turbojevic crashed over from an inside ball provided by Daly Cherry-Evans but they were second best all night. Penrith were in control and move onto an Elimination Final against Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs next Sunday afternoon at Allianz Stadium.
