An impressive message from a
True-Blue Newtown supporter

To the players, coaches and management of the Newtown club,, It is with great pleasure I write to you today to send my congratulations to Col Murphy (and Tommy Raudonikis who would have been mighty proud), and to all the players and management of the mighty Newtown Jets. My brother recently mentioned to me that he was coming down from Brisbane for Origin 1 and while he was down here wanted to see the Jets play (Our entire family have been life long Newtown supporters). So we checked the calendar, made motel arrangements and headed up to Energy Australia Stadium. My father who had not been to a live league game for over 15 years (And I can't recall the last time he saw the Jets play) was also keen to come along. So in Newcastle we arrived .... Entered the main gates and as we headed to our seats (Of course all decked out in our Newtown gear) the entire Jets team came jogging past us on their way onto the field. We hoped that this may have proved to be some small seed of inspiration, as from the moment kick off occurred they totally dominated the match. The effort, dedication and commitment that all players showed during the match was first class and was reflected in the final result. Each player should be proud of their contribution during the match, a game Newcastle were never in. It reminded me of the grand old days of 1981, when we were seeing the Royal Blue & Whites dominating. It's a pity that such a fantastic win happened away from home as all supporters of the club would have been impressed with the quality of the victory. So congratulations once again, the team certainly brought huge smiles to our faces and made us the happiest Newtown supporters in Newcastle on Saturday night. P.S. If you wish to publish this email feel free to do so and send this quick note to all Newtown supporters far and wide .... The mighty Newtown Jets spirit is alive and well and everybody, do yourselves a favour and get along to all their games. There is a small, dedicated band of players & officials doing each and every Newtown supporter proud and your support is required. See you all at Henson Park this Saturday when we take on the Tigers! Continued success for the remainder of the season. Jason Pritchard Newtown Jets supporter.
