Anasta out,
O'Meley back

X-rays today confirmed that Bulldogs five-eighth Braith Anasta requires surgery after breaking his thumb in Saturday's game against the North Queensland Cowboys. The injury is expected to keep him out for 4-6 weeks.

On a more positive note Bulldogs fans will be glad to hear that prop Mark O'Meley is available for selection for the first time since breaking his jaw in round 13. O'Meley returned to full-time training last week and is looking forward to making a return.

"It's always frustrating watching from the sidelines but I think it's been even harder watching when the team has been going so well. I've missed out on some pretty good games but hopefully I'll be able to help continue the run towards the finals," O'Meley said.

Willie Talau will also return after missing the past two weeks with a shoulder injury.

With some doubt over the fitness of Paul Rauhihi coach Steve Folkes is expected to take 18 players to New Zealand for Saturday's clash with the Warriors.
